La Porte City City is a city located in the Black Hawk County, Iowa, United States. In 2000, city's population was 2275 inhabitants. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 2238, It is the 140th most populous in the U.S. state of Iowa. It is spread over 2.63 mi˛ (6.81 sq km), it is the 137th largest in terms of geographical size.
