La Fayette City is a city located in the Chambers County, Alabama, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 3234 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 2893, It is 143rd most populous in Alabama. It covers total area of 8.85 square miles (22.92 sq km), it is the 150th largest by area in the U.S. state of Alabama.
