La Crosse County, Wisconsin is a county located in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 107120. In July 2008, its estimated population was 112627, It is the 13th largest county by population in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The county encompasses an area of 479.92 square miles (1242.99 sq km ), of which, 452.74 square miles (1172.59 sq km) of it is land and 27.18 square miles (70.4 sq km) of it is water, it is the seventh smallest by area in the U.S. state of Wisconsin.

As of the census of 2000, there were 107120 people, 41599 households, and 25599 families living in the county. The population density was 236.6 people per square mile (91.35/kmē), giving it the 11th most densely populated county among the Wisconsin. There were 43479 housing units at an average density of 96 per square mile (37.07/kmē). The average household size was 2.45 and the average family size was 3.02. In the county the population was spread out, with 23.6% under the age of 18, 15.6% from 18 to 24, 27.5% from 25 to 44, 20.8% from 45 to 64, and 12.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 106.3 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 110.3 females. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 112627, The racial makeup of the county was 93.97% White, 1.22% Black or African American, 0.47% American Indian, 3.2% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 1.11% from two or more races.
