La Crosse City is a city located in the La Crosse County, Wisconsin, United States. It is home to over 51818 people (2000 census). As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 50902, giving it the 12th largest population among Wisconsin. Its area is just over 22.16 miē (57.39 kmē), of which, 20.14 square miles (52.16 kmē) of it is land and 2.02 square miles (5.23 kmē) of it is water, it is the 25th largest by area in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It is ranks 19 in the size of its inland waterways in Wisconsin.
