Kotzebue City is a one of the Northwest Arctic Borough, Alaska, located in Western Region (Pacific) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Kotzebue City is home to 3082 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 3177, It is 27th most populous in Alaska. It is spread over 28.66 square miles (74.23 square kilometre), of which, 27 square miles (69.93 square kilometre ) of it is land and 1.65 square miles (4.27 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Alaska's 163rd largest by total area.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 3082 people, 889 households, and 657 families living in the city. The population density was 114.1 people per square mile (44.05/kmē), making its Alaska's 63rd most densely populated city. There were 1007 housing units at an average density of 37.3 per square mile (14.4/kmē). The average household size was 3.4 people, and the average family size was 3.93 people. In the city the population was spread out, with 39.8% under the age of 18, 8.5% from 18 to 24, 30.4% from 25 to 44, 17.2% from 45 to 64, and 4.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 98.1 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 95.7 females. The median age was 25.9 years, The median age of males was 26.8 years, for females the median age was 25.3 years. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 19.47% White, 0.32% Black or African American, 71.19% American Indian, 1.82% Asian, 0.06% Native Hawaiian, 6.36% from two or more races and 0.78% Other races.
