Knox County, Ohio is a county located in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 54500 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 59324, It is the 44th largest in terms of population. It has total area of 529.53 sq mi (1371.48 square kilometre), of which, 527.12 square miles (1365.23 square kilometre) of it is land and 2.41 square miles (6.24 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 27th largest by area in the U.S. state of Ohio.

It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 59324, The racial makeup of the county was 57767 White, 591 Black or African American, 131 American Indian, 231 Asian, 10 Native Hawaiian, and 594 from two or more races.
