Knox City is a one of the Starke County, Indiana, located in Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 3721. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 3831, giving it the 148th largest population among Indiana. The city has a total area of 3.93 mi˛ (10.18 sq km), making it Indiana's 116th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 3721 people in the city, organized into 1466 households, and 961 families residing in the city. The population density was 947.3 people per square mile (365.75/km˛), it is the 131st least populated city in terms of population density.
