Klickitat County is a one of the county from Washington's 39 counties, located in Western Region (Pacific) of United States. It is home to over 19161 people (2000 census). Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 20377, It is the tenth smallest in terms of population. The county spans an area of 1904.18 mi˛ (4931.8 sq km), of which, 1872.37 square miles (4849.42 sq km) of it is land and 31.8 square miles (82.36 sq km) of it is water, making it Washington's 19th largest county by total area.

The population density was 10.2 people per square mile (3.94/km˛), it is the ninth least populated county in terms of population density. There were 8633 housing units at an average density of 4.6 per square mile (1.78/km˛). The average household size was 2.54 persons, and the average family size was 2.99 persons. In the county the population was spread out, with 27.1% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 25.7% from 25 to 44, 27% from 45 to 64, and 13.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 99.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.8 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 20377, The racial makeup of the county was 92.79% White, 0.4% Black or African American, 3.57% American Indian, 0.79% Asian, 0.25% Native Hawaiian, and 2.2% from two or more races.
