Klamath County is one of the 36 county of Oregon, located towards the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. The county has a population of 63775 as per the 2000 census data. Its population was estimated at 66425 in July 2008, It is Oregon's 15th most populous county. The county comprises an area of 6135.75 sq mi (15891.52 sq km), of which, 5944.19 square miles (15395.38 sq km) of it is land and 191.56 square miles (496.14 sq km) of it is water, it is the fourth largest in terms of geographical size. It is ranks seventh in the size of its inland waterways in Oregon.

As of the census of 2000, there were 63775 people, 25205 households, and 17293 families living in the county. The population density was 10.7 people per square mile (4.13/kmē), it is the 23rd most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Oregon. There were 28883 housing units at an average density of 4.9 per square mile (1.89/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.49 persons, and the average family size was 2.95 persons. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 25.8% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 25.5% from 25 to 44, 25.2% from 45 to 64, and 14.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 100.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.3 males. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 66425, The racial makeup of the county was 90.8% White, 0.78% Black or African American, 4.26% American Indian, 0.97% Asian, 0.15% Native Hawaiian, and 3.03% from two or more races.
