According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Kittitas County is home to 33362 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 38951, It is Washington's 25th most populous county. The county encompasses an area of 2333.11 sq mi (6042.73 square kilometre ), of which, 2297.19 square miles (5949.69 square kilometre) of it is land and 35.93 square miles (93.06 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the tenth largest by area in the U.S. state of Washington.

In the county Population was distributed with 20.6% under the age of 18, 21.6% from 18 to 24, 24.6% from 25 to 44, 21.6% from 45 to 64, and 11.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.2 males. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 38951, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 92.72% White, 1.04% Black or African American, 1.06% American Indian, 2.94% Asian, 0.15% Native Hawaiian, and 2.1% from two or more races.
