Kirkland City is a city located in the King County, Washington, United States. As of 2000 the population was 45054. The July 2008 population estimate is 47303, making it the 16th most populous in Washington. It has total area of 11.01 square miles (28.52 kmē), of which, 10.68 square miles (27.66 kmē) of it is land and 0.33 square miles (0.85 kmē) of it is water, giving it the 72nd largest by total area among Washington.
