According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Kiowa County is home to 10227 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 9399, It is the 18th smallest in terms of population. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1030.66 mi˛ (2669.4 square kilometre), of which, 1014.56 square miles (2627.7 square kilometre) of it is land and 16.1 square miles (41.7 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 18th largest by total area among Oklahoma's county.

In the county Age distribution was 24.2% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 24.5% from 25 to 44, 23.4% from 45 to 64, and 20.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 95.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.7 males.
