Kinston City is a city located in Lenoir County, North Carolina, in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. In 2000, city's population was 23688 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 22360, It is the 26th largest in terms of population. The city spans an area of 16.89 square miles (43.74 kmē), of which, 16.73 square miles (43.33 kmē) of it is land and 0.16 square miles (0.41 kmē) of it is water, it is the 41st largest by area in the U.S. state of North Carolina.
