Kinnelon Borough is one of the borough of Morris County, New Jersey, located towards the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. The population of borough in 2000 stood at 9365 as per the Census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the borough is 9582, It is 176th most populous in New Jersey. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 18.82 mi˛ (48.74 square kilometre), of which, 17.89 square miles (46.33 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.93 square miles (2.41 square kilometre) of it is water, making it New Jersey's 13th largest by total area.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 9365 residents, 457 households, and 284 families in the borough. The population density was 523.5 people per square mile (202.12/km˛), it is New Jersey's 38th least densely populated borough. There were 3123 housing units at an average density of 174.6 per square mile (67.41/km˛). The average household size was 3.06 persons, and the average family size was 3.27 persons. In the borough Age distribution was 30% under the age of 18, 4.3% from 18 to 24, 27% from 25 to 44, 29.7% from 45 to 64, and 9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 99.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.9 males. The median age was 39.6 years, The median age of males was 39.3 years, for females the median age was 39.9 years. The racial or ethnic makeup of the borough was 8953 White, 54 Black or African American, 4 American Indian, 266 Asian, 9 Native Hawaiian, 57 from two or more races and 22 Ohter races.
