Kingwood City is a one of the Preston County, West Virginia, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 2944. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 2947, making it West Virginia's 48th largest. It covers total area of 2.47 square miles (6.4 square kilometre), it is the 78th largest by area in the U.S. state of West Virginia.
