Kingsbury County, South Dakota is a county located in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 5815 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 5394, giving it the 34th largest population among South Dakota's county. It has total area of 863.67 square miles (2236.9 kmē), of which, 838.37 square miles (2171.37 kmē) of it is land and 25.3 square miles (65.53 kmē) of it is water, making it the 37th largest by size in South Dakota.

For every 100 females there were 96.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.9 males.
