Kings County is a county located in the United States of California. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 129461 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 149518, making it California's 32nd largest county. Its area is just over 1391.49 square miles (3603.94 kmē), of which, 1390.99 square miles (3602.65 kmē) of it is land and 0.5 square miles (1.29 kmē) of it is water, it is the 34th largest by area in the U.S. state of California.

The population's age distribution was 29% under the age of 18, 11.8% from 18 to 24, 35% from 25 to 44, 16.8% from 45 to 64, and 7.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 134.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 148.8 males. Its population was estimated at 149518 in July 2008, The racial makeup of the county was 125591 White, 12373 Black or African American, 3268 American Indian, 4844 Asian, 384 Native Hawaiian, and 3058 from two or more races.
