Kingman County is a county located in the United States of Kansas. It is home to over 8673 people (2000 census). As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 7719, It is the 50th most populous county in the U.S. state of Kansas. The county comprises an area of 866.7 mi˛ (2244.74 square kilometre), of which, 863.35 square miles (2236.07 square kilometre) of it is land and 3.35 square miles (8.68 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 40th largest by area in the U.S. state of Kansas.

As of the census of 2000, there were 8673 people in the county, organized into 3371 households, and 2421 families residing in the county. The population density was 10 people per square mile (3.86/km˛), giving it the 51st most densely populated county among the Kansas. There were 3852 housing units at an average density of 4.5 per square mile (1.74/km˛). The average household size was 2.51 persons, and the average family size was 3.03 persons. In the Kingman County, 27.4% of the population was under the age of 18, 5.8% were 18 to 24, 24.7% were 25 to 44, 22.5% were 45 to 64, and 19.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.5 males.
