Kimball County is a county located in Nebraska, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. Kimball County had an official population of 4089 in 2000. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 3534, giving it the 63rd largest population among Nebraska's county. The county has a total area of 952.31 sq mi (2466.47 kmē), of which, 951.72 square miles (2464.94 kmē) of it is land and 0.58 square miles (1.5 kmē) of it is water, making it the 19th largest by size in Nebraska.

The population density was 4.3 people per square mile (1.66/kmē), it is 24th least densely populated county in Nebraska. There were 1972 housing units at an average density of 2.1 per square mile (0.81/kmē). The average household size was 2.33 people, and the average family size was 2.89 people. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 24.7% under the age of 18, 5.9% from 18 to 24, 23% from 25 to 44, 25.3% from 45 to 64, and 21% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 95.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.2 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 3534, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 97.51% White, 0.31% Black or African American, 0.88% American Indian, 0.11% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 1.16% from two or more races.
