Kimball City, Kimball County, Nebraska is a city located in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 2559. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 2191, making it the 50th most populous in Nebraska. The city extends throughout a territory of 1.54 sq mi (3.99 kmē ), making it the 57th largest by size in Nebraska.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2559 people, 1110 households, and 700 families living in the city. The population density was 1665.8 people per square mile (643.17/kmē), giving it the 108th most densely populated city among the Nebraska. There were 1210 housing units at an average density of 785.7 per square mile (303.36/kmē). The average household size was 2.25 persons, and the average family size was 2.84 persons. In the city the population was spread out, with 24.1% under the age of 18, 6.1% from 18 to 24, 23.1% from 25 to 44, 23.3% from 45 to 64, and 23.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 90 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.4 males. The racial makeup of the city was 96.25% White, 0.35% Black or African American, 1.06% American Indian, 0.16% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 1.8% from two or more races and 0.39% Other races.
