It is home to over 11886 people (2000 census). making it Florida's 234th largest. The census designated place encompasses an area of 15.29 mi˛ (39.6 sq km ), of which, 12.15 square miles (31.47 sq km) of it is land and 3.14 square miles (8.13 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 118th largest by total area in Florida.
