Kentucky is one of the state of United States, located towards the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. The population of state in 2000 stood at 4041769 as per the Census data. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 4269245, It is the 25th largest by population in the U.S. state of America. The state encompasses an area of 40409.02 mi˛ (104658.88 square kilometre ), of which, 39728.18 square miles (102895.51 square kilometre) of it is land and 680.85 square miles (1763.39 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 14th smallest by area in the U.S. state of America.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4041769 people in the state, organized into 1590647 households, and 1104398 families residing in the state. The population density was 101.7 people per square mile (39.27/km˛), making its United States's 23rd most densely populated state. There were 1750927 housing units at an average density of 44.1 per square mile (17.03/km˛). The average household size was 2.47 people, and the average family size was 2.97 people. In the state the population is diverse age-wise, with 24.6% under the age of 18, 9.9% from 18 to 24, 30% from 25 to 44, 23% from 45 to 64, and 12.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 95.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.5 males. The median age is 35.9 years, the median age of male residents at 34.6 and the median age of female residents at 37.1. The July 2008 population estimate is 4041769, The racial makeup of the state was 90.08% White, 7.32% Black or African American, 0.21% American Indian, 0.74% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, 1.05% from two or more races and 0.56% Other races.

Of which, percentage of enrollment student are in, 6.19% nursery or pri school, 5.48% kindergarten, 45.54% elementary school, 22.32% high school and 20.48% College graduate school.
