Kennewick City, Benton County, Washington is a city located in the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 54693 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 63216, It is the 12th largest by population in the U.S. state of Washington. The city extends throughout a territory of 24.32 square miles (62.99 kmē ), of which, 22.93 square miles (59.39 kmē) of it is land and 1.38 square miles (3.57 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 21st largest by total area in Washington.

As of the census of 2000, there were 54693 residents, 20786 households, and 14177 families in the city. The population density was 2384.9 people per square mile (920.82/kmē), it is the 96th most populated city in terms of population density. There were 22043 housing units at an average density of 961.3 per square mile (371.16/kmē). The average household size was 2.6 people, and the average family size was 3.15 people.
