Kendallville City is one of the city of Noble County, Indiana, located towards the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 9616 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 10452, It is the 74th largest by population in the U.S. state of Indiana. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 5.31 square miles (13.75 square kilometre), of which, 5.09 square miles (13.18 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.22 square miles (0.57 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 90th largest by area in the U.S. state of Indiana.

As of the census of 2000, there were 9616 people in the city, organized into 3873 households, and 2460 families residing in the city. The population density was 1890 people per square mile (729.73/kmē), it is the 195th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Indiana. The median age is 32.2 years, the median age of male residents at 30.8 and the median age of female residents at 33.8. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 96.66% White, 0.25% Black or African American, 0.16% American Indian, 0.59% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, 0.96% from two or more races and 1.37% Other races.
