Kendall County is a United States county located in the United States of Illinois. In 2000, the population was 54544. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 103460, It is the 20th largest county by population in the U.S. state of Illinois. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 322.67 square miles (835.71 sq km), of which, 320.58 square miles (830.3 sq km) of it is land and 2.09 square miles (5.41 sq km) of it is water, it is the 14th smallest by area in the U.S. state of Illinois.

As of the census of 2000, there were 54544 people in the county, organized into 18798 households, and 14969 families living in the county. The population density was 170.1 people per square mile (65.68/kmē), it is Illinois's 16th most densely populated county. There were 19519 housing units at an average density of 60.9 per square mile (23.51/kmē). The average household size was 2.89 and the average family size was 3.27. In the county Population was distributed with 29.5% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 32.4% from 25 to 44, 22.1% from 45 to 64, and 8.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.9 males. The July 2008 population estimate is 103460, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 89.95% White, 5.88% Black or African American, 0.22% American Indian, 2.77% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 1.17% from two or more races.
