Kenai Peninsula Borough is a borough in the United States of Alaska. In 2000, the population was 49691. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the borough is 53409, It is the fourth most populous borough in the U.S. state of Alaska. It has total area of 24754.6 mi˛ (64114.12 sq km), of which, 16013.26 square miles (41474.15 sq km) of it is land and 8741.34 square miles (22639.97 sq km) of it is water, making it the tenth largest by size in Alaska. It is ranks second in the size of its inland waterways in Alaska.

As of the census of 2000, there were 49691 residents, 18438 households, and 12716 families in the borough. The population density was 3.1 people per square mile (1.2/km˛), giving it the sixth most densely populated borough among the Alaska. There were 24871 housing units at an average density of 1.6 per square mile (0.62/km˛). It has an average household size was 2.62 persons, and the average family size was 3.15 persons. In the borough Age distribution was 29.9% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 29.6% from 25 to 44, 26.2% from 45 to 64, and 7.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 108.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 109.9 males. The July 2008 population estimate is 53409, The racial makeup of the borough was 46206 White, 411 Black or African American, 4175 American Indian, 561 Asian, 98 Native Hawaiian, and 1958 from two or more races.
