The census designated place comprises an area of 8.51 sq mi (22.04 kmē), of which, 6.57 square miles (17.02 kmē) of it is land and 1.94 square miles (5.02 kmē) of it is water, making it Hawaii's 28th largest by total area. It is ranks 16 in the size of its inland waterways in Hawaii.
