Kamiah City is a city in the Lewis and Idaho counties, Idaho, United States. In 2000, the population was 1160. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 1088, It is Idaho's 73rd largest by population . It covers total area of 1.17 sq mi (3.03 kmē), of which, 1.1 square miles (2.85 kmē) of it is land and 0.07 square miles (0.18 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 78th largest by total area in Idaho. It is ranks 16 in the size of its inland waterways in Idaho.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1160 people, 531 households, and 302 families living in the city. The population density was 1050.8 people per square mile (405.72/kmē), giving it the 112th most densely populated city among the Idaho. There were 607 housing units at an average density of 551.8 per square mile (213.05/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.17 persons, and the average family size was 2.87 persons. In the city the population was spread out, with 24% under the age of 18, 6% from 18 to 24, 20.9% from 25 to 44, 26.1% from 45 to 64, and 23% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 113.6 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 119.4 females. The median age is 44.4 years, The median age of males was 42.9 years, for females the median age was 46.4 years. The racial makeup of the city was 88.88% White, 0.26% Black or African American, 8.02% American Indian, 0.34% Asian, 0.09% Native Hawaiian, 0.95% from two or more races and 1.47% Other races.
