Kaltag City is a city located in the Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area, Alaska, United States. As of 2000 the population was 230. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 202, making it the 171st most populous in Alaska. It covers total area of 27.39 mi˛ (70.94 square kilometre), of which, 23.29 square miles (60.32 square kilometre) of it is land and 4.1 square miles (10.62 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the 167th largest by size in Alaska.

As of the census of 2000, there were 230 people, 69 households, and 53 families residing in the city. The population density was 9.9 people per square mile (3.82/km˛), giving it the 202nd most densely populated city among the Alaska. There were 78 housing units at an average density of 3.3 per square mile (1.27/km˛). The average household size was 3.33 persons, and the average family size was 3.83 persons. In the city Age distribution was 37% under the age of 18, 12.2% from 18 to 24, 27.4% from 25 to 44, 15.7% from 45 to 64, and 7.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 75.6 females.
