Kalawao County is a county in the United States of Hawaii. Kalawao County had an official population of 147 in 2000. Its population was estimated at 117 in July 2008, giving it the smallest population among Hawaii's county. The county extends throughout a territory of 52.33 sq mi (135.53 square kilometre ), of which, 13.21 square miles (34.21 square kilometre) of it is land and 39.12 square miles (101.32 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the smallest by area in the U.S. state of Hawaii.
