Jonesboro City is a city located in the Clayton County, Georgia, United States. It is home to over 3829 people (2000 census). Its population was estimated at 4131 in July 2008, giving it the 168th largest population among Georgia. The city comprises an area of 2.64 sq mi (6.84 kmē), of which, 2.59 square miles (6.71 kmē) of it is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 kmē) of it is water, it is the 318th largest by area in the U.S. state of Georgia.
