Johnson City City is a city in the Washington, Carter and Sullivan counties, Tennessee, United States. In 2000, city's population was 55469 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 61990, It is the eighth largest in terms of population. The city comprises an area of 39.58 miē (102.51 kmē), of which, 39.27 square miles (101.71 kmē) of it is land and 0.31 square miles (0.8 kmē) of it is water, making it the tenth largest by size in Tennessee.
