Jefferson County is a county in the United States of Wisconsin. The population of the county was 74021 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 80792, It is the 20th largest county by population in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 582.75 square miles (1509.32 sq km), of which, 557.01 square miles (1442.65 sq km) of it is land and 25.73 square miles (66.64 sq km) of it is water, making it Wisconsin's 12th smallest county by total area.

For every 100 females there were 98.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.8 males.
