Jefferson County, Oklahoma is a county of the United States of Oklahoma. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 6818 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 6219 in July 2008, It is the 13th smallest county by population in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. It has total area of 773.83 sq mi (2004.21 square kilometre), of which, 758.75 square miles (1965.15 square kilometre) of it is land and 15.07 square miles (39.03 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 45th largest by area in the U.S. state of Oklahoma.

The population density was 9 people per square mile (3.47/kmē), it is the 13th least populated county in terms of population density. There were 3373 housing units at an average density of 4.4 per square mile (1.7/kmē). The average household size was 2.38 people, and the average family size was 2.92 people. In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 24% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 25.4% from 25 to 44, 23.3% from 45 to 64, and 20.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 94.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.8 males. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 6219, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 88.13% White, 1.08% Black or African American, 6.37% American Indian, 1.32% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 3.07% from two or more races.
