Jean Lafitte Town is a one of the Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, located in Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. Jean Lafitte Town had an official population of 2137 in 2000. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 2265, It is the 185th most populous in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The town extends throughout a territory of 6.26 mi˛ (16.21 sq km ), of which, 5.98 square miles (15.49 sq km) of it is land and 0.28 square miles (0.73 sq km) of it is water, making it Louisiana's 99th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2137 residents, 400 households, and 290 families in the town. The population density was 357.5 people per square mile (138.03/km˛), it is the 118th least populated town in terms of population density. There were 767 housing units at an average density of 128.3 per square mile (49.54/km˛). It has an average household size was 2.96 persons, and the average family size was 3.31 persons. In the town the population was spread out, with 27.2% under the age of 18, 11.7% from 18 to 24, 28.5% from 25 to 44, 23.4% from 45 to 64, and 9.3% who were 65 or older.
