Jasper County is a county located in the United States of Illinois. In 2000, county's population was 10117 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 9698, It is Illinois's 15th least populous county. It has total area of 498.02 sq mi (1289.87 kmē), of which, 494.4 square miles (1280.49 kmē) of it is land and 3.62 square miles (9.38 kmē) of it is water, making it the 57th largest by size in Illinois.

In the county the population was distributed as follows: 25.9% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 26.5% from 25 to 44, 22.6% from 45 to 64, and 16.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.3 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 9698, The racial makeup of the county was 9611 White, 24 Black or African American, 8 American Indian, 18 Asian, 2 Native Hawaiian, and 35 from two or more races.
