Janesville City is a city located in the Rock County, Wisconsin, United States. The city has a population of 59498 as per the 2000 census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 62516, It is 11th most populous in Wisconsin. Its area is just over 28.12 square miles (72.83 sq km), of which, 27.54 square miles (71.33 sq km) of it is land and 0.59 square miles (1.53 sq km) of it is water, making it the 17th largest by size in Wisconsin.
