James Town Cdp is a one of the Sweetwater County, Wyoming, located in Western Region (Mountain) of United States. As per the 2000 census, town has a population of 552 inhabitants. It is the 73rd largest by population in the U.S. state of Wyoming. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 8.57 square miles (22.2 kmē), of which, 8.36 square miles (21.65 kmē) of it is land and 0.21 square miles (0.54 kmē) of it is water, it is the 48th largest by area in the U.S. state of Wyoming. It is ranks 16 in the size of its inland waterways in Wyoming.

As of the census of 2000, there were 552 residents, 211 households, and 162 families in the town. The population density was 66 people per square mile (25.48/kmē), it is the 132nd most populated town in terms of population density.
