Jacksonville City is a city located in Cherokee County, Texas, in the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. In 2000, city's population was 13868 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 14367, making it Texas's 163rd largest. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 14.15 miē (36.65 kmē), of which, 14.14 square miles (36.62 kmē) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 kmē) of it is water, it is the 168th largest by area in the U.S. state of Texas.
