Jacksonville City, Illinois is a city of the Morgan County, Illinois, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 18940 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 19415, It is 121st most populous in Illinois. The city has a total area of 10.33 square miles (26.75 sq km), of which, 10.13 square miles (26.24 sq km) of it is land and 0.19 square miles (0.49 sq km) of it is water, it is the 68th largest by area in the U.S. state of Illinois.
