As of July 2008, the estimated population was 19415, It is 121st most populous in Illinois. The city has a total area of 10.33 square miles (26.75 sq km), of which, 10.13 square miles (26.24 sq km) of it is land and 0.19 square miles (0.49 sq km) of it is water, it is the 68th largest by area in the U.S. state of Illinois.
