Jacksonville City is a city located in the Duval County, Florida, United States. As of 2000 the population was 735617. In July 2008, its estimated population was 807815, making it Florida's largest. It has total area of 874.33 miē (2264.5 kmē), of which, 757.68 square miles (1962.38 kmē) of it is land and 116.65 square miles (302.12 kmē) of it is water, giving it the largest by total area among Florida. It is ranks first in the size of its inland waterways in Florida.

As of the census of 2000, there were 735617 people in the city, organized into 284499 households, and 190533 families residing in the city. The population density was 970.9 people per square mile (374.87/kmē), it is 293rd least densely populated city in Florida.
