Jacksonville City is a city located in Calhoun County, Alabama, in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Jacksonville City is home to 8404 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 10077, It is the 66th largest by population in the U.S. state of Alabama. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 8.25 mi˛ (21.37 sq km), making it the 162nd largest by size in Alabama.
