Jackson County is a county in the United States of Indiana. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 41335 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 42193, giving it the 34th largest population among Indiana's county. The county spans an area of 513.75 square miles (1330.61 square kilometre), of which, 509.31 square miles (1319.11 square kilometre) of it is land and 4.44 square miles (11.5 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the tenth largest by total area in Indiana.
