Islip Cdp is a census designated place located in Suffolk County, New York, in the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 20575 inhabitants. It is 77th most populous in New York. The census designated place encompasses an area of 5.76 mi˛ (14.92 square kilometre ), of which, 5.4 square miles (13.99 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.36 square miles (0.93 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 151st largest in terms of geographical size.
