Isle Of Wight County is a county in the United States of Virginia. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 29728 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 35472, It is the 47th largest in terms of population. The county comprises an area of 362.76 square miles (939.54 sq km), of which, 315.87 square miles (818.1 sq km) of it is land and 46.89 square miles (121.44 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 54th largest by total area in Virginia.

As of the census of 2000, there were 29728 residents, 11319 households, and 8672 families in the county. The population density was 94.1 people per square mile (36.33/kmē), it would be the 65th most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Virginia. There were 12066 housing units at an average density of 38.2 per square mile (14.75/kmē). The average household size was 2.61 and the average family size was 2.99. In the county Population was distributed with 25.4% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 29.6% from 25 to 44, 26.2% from 45 to 64, and 12.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 95.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.7 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 35472, The racial makeup of the county was 72.64% White, 25.21% Black or African American, 0.26% American Indian, 0.77% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 1.09% from two or more races.
