According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Iroquois County is home to 31334 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 30285, It is Illinois's 49th most populous county. The county extends throughout a territory of 1118.03 square miles (2895.68 kmē ), of which, 1116.43 square miles (2891.54 kmē) of it is land and 1.6 square miles (4.14 kmē) of it is water, it is the fifth largest in terms of geographical size.

In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 25.4% under the age of 18, 7.1% from 18 to 24, 25.7% from 25 to 44, 23.6% from 45 to 64, and 18.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.8 males. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 30285, The racial makeup of the county was 29444 White, 360 Black or African American, 108 American Indian, 136 Asian, 6 Native Hawaiian, and 231 from two or more races.
