According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Iroquois City is home to 278 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 268 in July 2008, making it South Dakota's 189th largest. It has total area of 0.53 mi˛ (1.37 sq km), making it the 200th largest by size in South Dakota.
