Iron Mountain City, Dickinson County, Michigan is a city located in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 8154. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 7763, It is the 137th largest in terms of population. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.8 miē (20.2 kmē), of which, 7.2 square miles (18.65 kmē) of it is land and 0.6 square miles (1.55 kmē) of it is water, it is the 87th largest by area in the U.S. state of Michigan.

As of the census of 2000, there were 8154 people, 3458 households, and 2147 families living in the city. The population density was 1132.6 people per square mile (437.3/kmē), making its Michigan's 318th most densely populated city.
