Irmo Town is a town located in Lexington and Richland counties, South Carolina, in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. Irmo Town had an official population of 11039 in 2000. The July 2008 population estimate is 11684, It is the 39th largest by population in the U.S. state of South Carolina. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 4.13 sq mi (10.7 kmē), making it South Carolina's 135th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 11039 people in the town, organized into 3911 households, and 3164 families residing in the town. The population density was 2670.2 people per square mile (1030.97/kmē), it is fourth most densely populated town in South Carolina. There were 4066 housing units at an average density of 984.5 per square mile (380.12/kmē). The average household size was 2.81 and the average family size was 3.15.
