The city encompasses an area of 368.16 square miles (953.53 kmē ), of which, 361.48 square miles (936.23 kmē) of it is land and 6.68 square miles (17.3 kmē) of it is water, makes it the largest by total area in Indiana. It is ranks second in the size of its inland waterways in Indiana.
